7,000 Pies for Rosie

Cathy Hope Illustrated by Jenny Cooper

The heartwarming true story of Rosie, a sheep dog who became a train station legend.

This heartwarming true story celebrates Rosie, an iconic Border Collie and her remarkable life on New Zealand’s Canterbury Plains. After ten loyal years spent herding sheep, Rosie retires to the quiet town of Springfield—where she discovers a new calling. Twice a day, she meets the TranzAlpine Express, delighting passengers and rounding up tourists. In return, she is given a delicious meat pie. Over ten years, Rosie is estimated to have eaten more than 7,000 pies! Brought to life with warm, expressive illustrations, this is a delightful tale of purpose, community, and the culture and spirit of New Zealand.
