Pink is for Piglets
Annette Cooper
Illustrated by Judith Loske
A boy chooses his favourite T-shirt to wear on Uniform-free day—but not everyone thinks it is cool.
Excited at the prospect of Uniform-free Day at school, Pascal puts on his favourite pink T-shirt. However, when he is ridiculed by his classmates for wearing pink, a crestfallen Pascal finds the courage to stand up for himself, giving examples of things that are pink and showing how sad life would be without them. Shocked by the thought of a world without bubble gum, strawberry milkshakes, and piglets, the children soften and apologise to Pascal. Pink is for Piglets celebrates individuality, courage, and the overturning of stereotypes.
- A positive story that explores issues concerning bullying, courage, and respect.
- Wonderfully written, this story demonstrates the need to respect others and defy stereotypes.
- Colourful, engaging illustrations that capture the unique qualities of this delightful story.
