John Auty wrote The Bush Birthday Bash from his camp room in Port Hedland, Western Australia, while working away from his home in Perth as a Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) worker. At the time, John’s daughters loved reading books before bed, so he decided to write them an original story with loveable characters that journeyed together through different Australian landscapes.
