YU Rong worked as an illustrator, designer, and art teacher before she moved to Cambridge, England, in 1997 and attended the Royal College of Art in London, studying Communication Art and Design. She received the Golden Apple Award at the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava in 2013. She now lives in a small village on the outskirts of Cambridge with her husband and their three young children.
